Rafael Faro was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1969. He is a Visual Artist that integrates marketing tools and illustration skills in his creative process. He completed his Masters in Global Marketing in the Candido Mendes-UCAM University in 2000, and has a Bachelor’s Degree of Visual Arts from UniverCidade University, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1990.

 

Rafael Faro had his work awarded 11 times as an Art Director, Graphic Designer and Cartoonist, in Brazil and USA. As an Illustrator and Painter, he had his work published in Brazil, England, Mexico and United States. Mr. Faro has great expertise as medical illustrator, working for the world’s largest companies in the pharmaceutical industry, such as GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Schering and others. As an Art Director, he has also created several campaigns for Industries like, SC Johnson, Kraft Foods, Castrol, and Rexam.

 

Always seeking for innovation, Rafael Faro has founded You in Cartoon, a way to portray people in a cartoonish style and imprint onto promotional items for any occasion (www.youincartoon.com, Instagram: @youincartoon). Also as a cartoonist he creates cartoons for Gazeta News, the largest newspaper in United States written in Portuguese language, and posts his cartoons worldwide under the brand YouinCartoon-Fun.

 

Rafael Faro is recognized as an artist with great talent, versatility and speed. His realistic paintings and illustrations mix different techniques such as acrylic paint, gouache, color pencil and pencil. Also, when developing characters for books, comic books, products and brands, he can trace in several different styles. Working with a large variety of materials and media, Rafael Faro also combine his art with computer graphics, using different software to produce digital or vector illustrations and designs.

 

Rafael Faro has performed a leading or critical role for several international companies & distinguished institutions applying his combined skills to produce designs, illustrations and any artwork required to bring the “wow” in his customers' desire.
